Renewable energy relies on resources that are naturally self-replenishing. These include solar, wind, hydropower and others. Currently, China dominates production and consumption in the renewable energy sector -it annually installs half the world's PV cells (solar panels), it is the world's biggest producer, exporter and installer of wind turbines, and roughly %30 of its domestic energy consumption comes from renewable sources. By contrast, renewable energy constitutes only 8% of the U.S.'s domestic energy consumption, and most of the U.S.'s solar panels and turbines are imported.
